Hi, I'm Shelley — and I've Been Where You Are.

I'm a Registered Midwife (qualified 2001) and International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (qualified 2010). Over more than two decades, I've supported over 3,500 births and worked alongside thousands of families navigating the joys and challenges of feeding their babies.

LactationGO is the training provider I wished had existed when I was building my own lactation career. It's practical, evidence-based, and designed around real clinical life — not just theory.

Why I Created LactationGO

My path to becoming an IBCLC wasn't straightforward. When I decided to pursue IBCLC certification, I had to navigate a fragmented and often overwhelming landscape of training options.

I wanted a course that was rigorous enough to genuinely prepare me for the IBCLC exam — but also grounded in the reality of clinical practice. I wanted something that respected my existing knowledge as a midwife while filling the genuine gaps.

That course didn't exist. So I built it.

LactationGO is the result of more than two decades of clinical experience, 15 years of lactation consultancy, and a genuine passion for growing the next generation of skilled lactation professionals in the UK.

What is LEAARC Approval & Why Does It Matter?

LactationGO's IBCLC preparation course is LEAARC-approved. LEAARC (The Lactation Education Accreditation and Approval Review Committee) is the international body responsible for assuring quality in lactation education.

LEAARC Approval signals to employers, insurers, and professional bodies that our course meets the established criteria and standards of the lactation profession.

Our course offers 90 hours of didactic instruction, meeting the IBLCE® requirement for lactation education as a pathway toward sitting the IBCLC board examination.
